If you love creating with Close To My Heart, then consider applying for our Heart2Heart Design Team!  If selected, your term will be from January through June 2023 (with the option to continue throughout 2023).  If you’re still interested after reading through the requirements, be sure to apply using the InLinkz below!

* You MUST know how to write and schedule/publish a post on Blogger.  (We can help you learn if you don't already know how.)  Each DT member will have a couple of weeks (scattered throughout your term) in which you are responsible for hosting/writing the Monday challenge post. Don't worry - the team will be around to help out with this as well but please only apply if you are comfortable blogging.

*You must be able to join our DT Facebook group.  We use this group as the most effective means of communication and where you post your artwork when you're not hosting.

* You must link up three of your best pieces of artwork. DO NOT send me a link to your blog to look at your artwork there - I want you to pick what you consider three of your best and link them up.

ALL applications must be received by November 15.  This is a very quick turnaround time, but you will need time to start creating for January 1!  We will make the selection of the new team members with notification sent out no later than December 1.

Here are some more things to keep in mind about a position on the DT.  You are committing to:
*Participate in a challenge twice a month (first and third Mondays) and have your artwork for each challenge posted to the DT Facebook Group the Saturday before the challenge begins.
*Make an effort to post your artwork on any other boards/galleries you belong to and advertise our challenge blog whenever and wherever you can so we can continually grow in numbers of participants.
*Participate in any extra programs that we may decide upon as a team. You are also expected to weigh in on your choices of winners in monthly awards (Top Ten) by the deadline.
*Join a Facebook Group set up specifically for team members.
*Visit the blogs of the challenge participants and leave comments.
*Serve as H2H blog hostess about once every other month.  (You must know how to use Blogger to do this.)

New Year, New Design Team Members

Happy 2019!  We are kicking off the year with the addition of some fabulous new Design Team members!  We are always sorry to see friends leave (and thank them profusely for their service!) but on the other hand are excited to welcome new faces.

Hi I’m Lauren, a mum of two boys from New Zealand. Crafting is my happy place but when I’m not in my craft room you can find me bushwalking, hanging out with my boys or participating in musical theatre- all of which make great scrapbook layouts for me to create! Welcome back, Lauren!

Cat Nowack is also no stranger to Heart2Heart!  My name is Catherine “Cat” Nowak. I live in Arvada, CO with my husband, son and two rescue dogs. We moved to Colorado in 2014. Prior to that we lived in Washington state for almost 10 years and Louisiana where I spent most of my life. I became a stay at home mom when my son was born in 2011, and retired from my profession as a Veterinarian.
I am an avid crafter ever since I was young. I started scrapbooking back in the 1980’s before I knew scrapbooking was a real thing. In 2001, I became addicted after wondering into my first scrapbook store. I have never looked back. In 2012, I became a Close to My Heart Consultant so that I could share my love of crafting with others. I started hosting regular workshops in my home. In 2014, I became a member of the Design Team for Color My Heart and still serve on. I am looking forward to joining Heart 2 Heart so that I can challenge myself and inspire others.

Danielle Wagner is another great addition to our H2H family.  She shares: Hello my name is Danielle. I live in Ohio, where we have three seasons, winter, spring and construction! My husband and I celebrated 7 years of marriage this past summer, but it took him over 10 years for me to say yes to a date! He has one amazing son who has just become a teenager, together we have three beautiful children that range from 6 to 1.
In high school, my aunt purchased a big box store scrapbooking kit as Christmas gift. Since then I have created over 50 albums for family, friends, and my children. In 2004, my parents saw a CTMH idea book at an Art show and picked it up for me. I held on to that book for 1- years, C.A.S.E. the layouts and cards over and over. Ten years- and many supplies later= I decided to become a consultant. The last 5 years have been so much fun, and I have learned so much. I cannot wait to share my artwork and more with you!

Please join me in welcome our new team members!

Welcome Our New Design Team Members!

Please join us in welcoming two new talented artists to our H2H Design Team!

My name is Amy Pitts from DeKalb IL.  My husband Kenny and I are the modern day Brady Bunch: he had 2 sons and 1 daughter and I have 3 daughters so now we have 6 kids among us. Only my youngest lives with us as all the rest of them are adults. Our two oldest children both have families of their own so we also have 5 grandchildren. Lots of great memories to scrapbook and lots of reasons to send out cards on a regular basis!

I have been artsy my whole life but in 1995 I discovered scrapbooking and instantly fell in love and soon after stamping, making cards was instant gratification and who doesn't love getting happy mail? I never looked back and eventually spent most of my spare time making pretty things. I also enjoy making ABC items (anything but a card), home decor items, and decorating planners. Basically I just love pape rcrafts!!

My name is Michelle Johns, and I live in Vancouver, WA, with my fantastic husband of almost 25 years.  Together we have four kids ranging from 15 to 24.  I work outside of the home for a small company about 30 hours a week.

I have always loved to be crafty.  I remember painting salt ornaments each Christmas with my mom, drawing things for years, and wanting to scrapbook from the time I was in high school.  I knew I couldn't afford it then, or have the space for it, so I kept turning away from it.  After some time, I found that I could do my scrapbooking digitally, and I loved it!  I was able to use the same stuff over and over again, and it made me happy.  One day, one of my friends asked if I wanted to join a card making group that met monthly, and I said SURE!  It was a lot of fun, and I *almost* signed up to be a consultant for that company.  I was talking to another friend about it, and she asked if I had heard of CTMH before.  My reply was that I had no idea what those letters stood for, so .  . no.  She told me to look them up.  As soon as I saw that they were clear stamps, I was SOLD!  I didn't even have to use them to know that THAT was the company I wanted to sign up for!  That was more than 10 years ago, and I have been happily stamping with my CTMH products ever since!

You can find me online in these places:

Welcome, Amy and Michelle!  We're so glad to have you as part of our design team!

Welcome Our New Designers!

It's finally time to announce our new designers!  We are so excited about the creativity and talent that they are bringing to our team, and they can't wait to get started!  You'll see them soon, both here with their inspiration projects and on your blogs as they visit and comment.  Please join us in welcoming...

Sheila Bennett
From the heartland of America, I'm excited to join the H2H Design Team and be challenged to be more creative, more often.  I love all the friendships and opportunities that I’ve had over the past 15 years with CTMH, and look forward to whatever the future brings.  In addition to being a CTMH consultant, I am also an independent designer for Origami Owl.

Becca Whitham
At this point in my life, I can be summed up in a few phrases: I am an empty-nesting Army wife, an Inspirational Historical Fiction author, a stamping and paper crafting addict, and a Chai tea lover. My husband joined the Army as a Chaplain back in 2009, and when he was walking out the door for a year-long deployment in 2010, he made me promise to do something about all the stories I'd written over the years. My first publication came out in 2015, and I'll be up to ten published stories by the end of this year. My husband and I have two grown children and a craft cabinet that I think the Army and the IRS should allow us to claim as a dependent still living with us. I'm thrilled to be part of the new H2H Design Team so I can put that craft cabinet to work.

Tamytha Jenkins
Hi there! My name is Tamytha Jenkins.  I live in Merritt Island, Florida, with my husband of nearly 25 years. I’m proud to be called mom by my 20 year old daughter and my 16 year old son and the human mom to two cats and two dogs. In order to feed all of these mouths (and help support my paper crafting habit and okay…a few other bills), I teach full time as a middle school science teacher and have done so for almost 15 years.

I was introduced to scrapbooking when I was pregnant with my daughter and then discovered stamping soon after.  It’s been a huge part of my life ever since. I was fortunate enough to work and teach in both a stamping store and a scrapbooking store. Paper crafting also helped me overcome postpartum depression, as I had a friend practically force me to a retreat and after doing so, I realized just how therapeutic being creative was for me. On my next crop, in 2010, I ran into my former D.O.T.S. consultant and she gave me a Close To My Heart Idea Book. After drooling over it all night, I joined the next day. My only regret was taking nearly 10 years to make that decision.  Otherwise, I have loved every single minute being a part of Close To My Heart, including the life-long friends that I’ve made and creative opportunities like this one.

I’m so thrilled to be back on the H2H Design Team. I’ve been on the design team a couple of times in the past (2012 & 2013) and I can attest to how the challenges can stretch our creativity and move us out of our comfort zone if we allow it to do so. After selecting artwork to take with me to display for the Consultant Showcase at the CTMH Convention later this month, I became aware that many of my favorite (and most popular) pieces were created based on the challenges presented here. Very shortly afterwards, I saw the Design Team call and jumped at the opportunity again. I look forward to seeing what the challenges will bring out of me for the next six months. It is also my hope that you will join us and take the challenge…whatever it may be.

Kelly Brandt
Good day y’all. My name is Kelly Brandt and I live in British Columbia,Canada,  with my hubby of 28 years, two great sons, and my 2 great four legged friends, my dogs. I have ben crafting for as long as I can remember but really became addicted to scrapbooking about ten years ago and that addiction has grown into my passion “sharing what I love, anything paper.”

I have been published numerous times in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, taught classes at local scrapbooker stores, and have been a H2H Design Team Member in the past. Challenging myself to become a better crafter is one of my favourite things to do, I always encourage fellow crafters to look outside the box and try new things even if they are out of their comfort zone. That is how we learned grow.

I am looking forward to being with this great group of crafty ladies at H2H, and also look forward to seeing everyone’s craftiness.

New Year, New DT

Happy 2017!!!  Our New Zealand fans were the first to ring in the new year, and I loved all the pictures I saw on TV and on Facebook.  With the new year, we have some new challenge ideas and some new faces.

Before we introduce our newest team member, please join me in thanking Heather Jane and Shirley for all their work and dedication here at H2H.  We wish you the very best and hope you'll be able to come back and play sometime!

Now meet Sue Bruch, our latest and greatest!  Sue writes:

This allows the teams members to get a little "break" and gives them additional time to get their artwork ready for their week's challenge.

If you would like to be considered for one of the teams, here is the application process:
*Email h2hchallenges@gmail.com with your name, address, blog address, email address and a little bio about you. Be sure to tell me why you want to be a part of the team and how long you have been a consultant. Also, we’d like to know where you live because we are looking for geographic diversity too.

*If you are currently serving on a design team or have in the past, tell us about that experience.  Please include a link to the challenge blog(s).

* You MUST know how to write and schedule/publish a post on Blogger. Each DT member will have a couple of weeks (scattered throughout your term) in which you are responsible for hosting/writing the Monday challenge post. Don't worry - I will be around to help out with this as well but please only apply if you are comfortable blogging.

* You must send photos of three of your pieces of artwork. DO NOT send me a link to your blog to look at your artwork there - I want you to pick what you consider three of your best and include them with the application.

ALL applications must be received by November 20.  This is a very quick turnaround time, but you will need time to start creating for January 1!  We will make the selection of the new team members by Dec. 1 with notification sent out no later than Dec. 3.  That will give you almost a month to begin creating for the kick off January 1!

Here are some more things to keep in mind about a position on the DT.  You are committing to:
*Participate in a challenge every other week (each of your team's weeks) and have your artwork for each challenge posted to the DT Facebook Group the Saturday before the challenge begins.
*Make an effort to post your artwork on any other boards/galleries you belong to and advertise our challenge blog whenever and wherever you can so we can continually grow in numbers of participants. We currently have an H2H page on Facebook that I would like DT members to join but this is optional.  (The Facebook DT group is required.)
*Your term would be January-April 2016 with an option to renew at the end of your term.
*Possibly offer a small prize at least once during your term.

What you get in return:
* Commitment to producing artwork at least once every 2 weeks which gives you an opportunity to create on a regular basis!
* Opportunities to stretch yourself creatively with support from a great team!
* Increased blog traffic which will hopefully lead to an increase in your business!
* Fun and fellowship with the entire team and a chance to meet new consultants and CTMH fans!

I think that about wraps it up. What are you waiting for? Send in your application today!! (Any questions can be directed to me at h2hchallenges@gmail.com.)  Thanks!
