Design Team Members Wanted for 2016: January-April

It is time to recruit some new talent to our Heart2Heart Design Team for the new year!  If you love Heart 2 Heart Challenges and want to share your love of creating with Close To My Heart, then consider applying for our Design Team!  If selected, your term will be January-April 2016.  (This term is a little shorter than our usual 6 months because we are realigning our H2H calendar to better match CTMH.)   If you’re still interested after reading through the requirements, send your application to h2hchallenges@gmail.com.

We will continue to have TWO Design Teams!! The teams will both have 4 month terms but will split the responsibilities with one team inspiring us one week and the other team inspiring us the next. This allows the teams members to get a little "break" and gives them additional time to get their artwork ready for their week's challenge.

If you would like to be considered for one of the teams, here is the application process:
*Email h2hchallenges@gmail.com with your name, address, blog address, email address and a little bio about you. Be sure to tell me why you want to be a part of the team and how long you have been a consultant. Also, we’d like to know where you live because we are looking for geographic diversity too.

*If you are currently serving on a design team or have in the past, tell us about that experience.  Please include a link to the challenge blog(s).

* You MUST know how to write and schedule/publish a post on Blogger. Each DT member will have a couple of weeks (scattered throughout your term) in which you are responsible for hosting/writing the Monday challenge post. Don't worry - I will be around to help out with this as well but please only apply if you are comfortable blogging.

* You must send photos of three of your pieces of artwork. DO NOT send me a link to your blog to look at your artwork there - I want you to pick what you consider three of your best and include them with the application.

ALL applications must be received by December 5.  This is a very quick turnaround time, but you will need time to start creating for January 1!  We will make the selection of the new team members by Dec. 10 and the new team will start on January 1!

Here are some more things to keep in mind about a position on the DT.  You are committing to:
*Participate in a challenge every other week (each of your team's weeks) and have your artwork for each challenge posted to the DT Facebook Group the Saturday before the challenge begins.
*Make an effort to post your artwork on any other boards/galleries you belong to and advertise our challenge blog whenever and wherever you can so we can continually grow in numbers of participants. We currently have an H2H page on Facebook that I would like DT members to join but this is optional.  (The Facebook DT group is required.)
*Participate in any extra programs that we may decide upon as a team. You are also expected to weigh in on your choices of winners in monthly awards (Top Ten).
*Join a Facebook Group set up specifically for team members.
*Visit the blogs of the challenge participants and leave comments.
*Serve as H2H blog hostess about once every other month.  (You must know how to use Blogger to do this.)
*Your term would be January-April 2016 with an option to renew at the end of your term.
*Possibly offer a small prize at least once during your term.

What you get in return:
* Commitment to producing artwork at least once every 2 weeks which gives you an opportunity to create on a regular basis!
* Opportunities to stretch yourself creatively with support from a great team!
* Increased blog traffic which will hopefully lead to an increase in your business!
* Fun and fellowship with the entire team and a chance to meet new consultants and CTMH fans!

I think that about wraps it up. What are you waiting for? Send in your application today!! (Any questions can be directed to me at h2hchallenges@gmail.com.)  Thanks!

Wonderful Watercolors!

Welcome to our Heart 2 Heart Challenge this week as we explore trendy watercolors! Watercolors are a versatile medium that can do everything from bold striking splashes to the softest of washes and color images with artistic flair.

This trend has taken hold in everything from home decor to fashion which means papercrafting is also exploring this beautiful medium. Close to my Heart recently began offering pan watercolors that have set off an explosion of creativity in the ranks of our Consultants as we get to know one of the new products in our line. I hope you join in the fun this week and grab your own set of watercolors to paint along!

We hope you'll join us in exploring the wonderful world of watercolors!  The link below will be open for one month and we can't wait to see what you create with this addictive and fun medium!

Through the Window

Have you ever looked through the window and wondered what was on the other side? This week at Heart 2 Heart, we are challenging you to do just that! There are many ways to look "through the window" in the paper crafting world - our Design Team will show you some of them. There is the hole in the card or layout approach, the view through a window, a clear box or bag, but these are only a few possibilities... there are many more!

Let's take a look at what our Guest Designer, Hansi Brittain, did:

And here are the projects from the rest of our Design Team:

You have all month to play along with any Heart 2 Heart challenges. All entries must use some Close To My Heart products. The link up is below - be sure to share your projects with us this month as we would love to see what you create "through the window"!

Please Welcome Our November Guest Designer!

You may have noticed that we have been without a guest designer for a few months due to various reasons, so we are especially thrilled to have the lovely and talented Hansi Brittain joining us as our November guest designer!

The creative process soothes my soul.  Who can think about the complications of life when you are creating?  I fell in with a group of amazing women who get together for fellowship, fun and paper crafting.   One day, a friend invited me to a monthly group to which she belonged ...just for fun.. .no need to buy anything…  Yeah, right!  I loved the Close to My Heart products.  It was in monthly group that I discovered card making which has become both therapy and ministry.  After I get the pleasure of making something, I can brighten someone’s day by giving it away.  By participating in challenge blogs, I have learned so much from fellow crafters who share their work and techniques. I am honored and humbled to be the guest designer this month.

Welcome, Hansi!  Thanks for joining us as our November Guest Designer!
