Country Flair

"Howdy" you ask??  Yup, our theme this week is all about "country flair"!  Dust off your boots, shake out that quilt, and get ready to craft it up, country style.

Give Me a C - T - M - H!

Good Morning Crafters!!  Thanks to everyone who has joined us in the new year!  You have all month to play along with any of our January challenges, including our scrapbook challenge, Sentimental Journey.

This week our challenge is all about "CTMH". That's right, we want you to create a project using the letters "C", "T", "M", and "H" in some way.  You can use the letters themselves or use a product or technique using the letters.  Maybe you want to use Card stock, a Technique, etc.  OR you can come up with another clever way to incorporate the letters into your project!

Be sure to use some CTMH products in your creation, explain how your project fits this week's challenge, and of course be sure to mention your favorite challenge blog, Heart 2 Heart, in your post.

How will you interpret this challenge????

You have until the end of the month to participate in this week's challenge, and all of the rest of January's challenges as they're unveiled.  (Don't forget about our other challenges this month too!)  The only rule that we have is that you use and mention Close To My Heart.

We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Brown Paper Packages Tied Up with String

In the lovely musical The Sound of Music, Maria (Julie Andrews) sings a very catchy song titled, My Favorite Things.  Within this song, there is a line she sings that says, "Brown paper packages tied up with string..."  Do you know that song?  I bet you just sang it (in your best Julie Andrews impression, of course) while reading that sentence!

This week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges, we are asking all of you to interpret our challenge for this week.  You guessed it: brown paper packages tied up with string.  Perhaps you'll use Kraft or our neutral card stock.  Maybe you'll incorporate some of our bakers twine collection into your artwork.  Whatever you choose, we know you'll all create gorgeous artwork for us to admire!

Shadows and Shades

Good Morning Everyone!

It's that time of the week -- a NEW challenge here at Heart 2 Heart Challenges!  This week our challenge was to create something using the theme/technique of "ombre".  What you ask is "ombre"?  Well, that's what we design team members wondered as well.  Basically it has to do with shadows and shades. 

Merriam-Webster defines it as:

having colors or tones that shade into each other —used especially of fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark

Huh??  Well here is another definition AND a pic to give you a better idea:
