Introducing our October Guest Designer

Congratulations and welcome to our October guest designer, Becca Whitham!

I am a former D.O.T.S/CTMH consultant who still loves (and has way too much of) every scrap of paper and stamp.  In my non-crafting life, I am an aspiring author.  I've won a couple awards, finished a few novels, but am still several years away from having a publishable novel ready to sell.  I am an Army wife and mom currently living in Oklahoma, but Washington State will always be home.  My husband and I have been married almost twenty-nine years.  We have two grown children, one son-in-law, and no pets...or grandchildren...not that I'm, you know, hinting at anything.

Alphabet Soup

While the "lazy" days of summer fall behind us, we are excited to see so many of you playing along with our challenges!  Even if you can't play each week, feel free to leave our DT a little love in the comment section.  You have until the end of the month to play along with any of our September challenges, including this final one.  Thank YOU for making us a part of your online/crafty life!

Is the September weather starting to cool off where you are?  Is there a nip of fall in the air?  If so, then it's time to dish up some alphabet soup!  What do we mean by this challenge?  We are interpreting it to use multiple alphabets in your creations.  Maybe different stamp sets, maybe some Cricut love, or a little chipboard thrown in the mix?  No matter how you stir it, be sure to show off those cool fonts.  Variety IS the spice of life, after all!  As always, you are free to interpret  our challenges any way to your heart (or taste buds?) desire, as long as you use some Close To My Heart products in your creations.  (Please remember to mention your favorite challenge blog in your post and use the deep URL when you link up.)  Also, if you fail to use anything CTMH, we'll have to delete your entry.  Thanks for understanding.

A Few of My Favorite Things!

Hi everyone!  Can you believe it is time for another challenge? September is just flying by!

We have a little bit of a Sound of Music theme going on right now at H2H, and to follow up last week's "brown paper packages tied up with string," Team Sunset is moving on to a few of our favorite things!  I don't know about you, but I sure got excited at the thought of this one!  :)

So, tell us, what are YOUR favorite things?  Or, maybe you are humming along with the song right now looking for inspiration...raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens?  Creme colored ponies and crisp apple strudels?  Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes?  So many possibilities!  We sure can't wait to see what you are inspired to make for this one!   If you need a refresher of the rules, go HERE.  Just remember the MOST important rule--HAVE FUN CREATING!!!!  :)

Brown Paper Packages Tied Up with String

In the lovely musical The Sound of Music, Maria (Julie Andrews) sings a very catchy song titled, My Favorite Things.  Within this song, there is a line she sings that says, "Brown paper packages tied up with string..."  Do you know that song?  I bet you just sang it (in your best Julie Andrews impression, of course) while reading that sentence!

This week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges, we are asking all of you to interpret our challenge for this week.  You guessed it: brown paper packages tied up with string.  Perhaps you'll use Kraft or our neutral card stock.  Maybe you'll incorporate some of our bakers twine collection into your artwork.  Whatever you choose, we know you'll all create gorgeous artwork for us to admire!

Color Challenge: Sunset, Barn Red, Cashmere, and Gypsy

It’s does not seem possible that the month of September is already here! This week to help celebrate the first of the Fall colors that are beginning to grace the trees in the northern states we have a color challenge! It is up to you on how to interpret the color challenge. You can use neutral colors and must have CTMH sunset, barn red, cashmere and gypsy somewhere in the project. Have fun with this challenge featuring fall colors.

September's Guest Designer

It's time to introduce our September Guest Designer, and this talented lady is no stranger to H2H and our fans!  Please join me in giving a warm welcome to Wendy Coffman!

Hi! My name is Wendy Coffman, and I blog over at Stamping Rules. By day I am a busy mom to three active little boys, scratch cooking gluten free food, attempting to scale Mount Washmore, and volunteering at our co-op preschool. At night, usually fueled by too much Earl Gray and dark chocolate, I escape upstairs to my "Stamp Pad", where paper crafting gives me a mental vacation while creating beautiful keepsakes to preserve memories of our family and friends. I like to joke that I scrapbook mainly so I can remember all the good reasons why I love my sweet little rascals after a long day. I've been married for 15 years to my best friend John, who supports my addiction to all things CTMH with generous amounts of babysitting, patience, and praise for completed projects. I'm so excited to be a Guest Design Team member here at Heart 2 Heart this month!
