Meet our November Guest DT!

We have one more Guest DT to introduce before we wrap up the 2012 challenges - meet Alyson Mayo:

I fell in love with paper crafting about six years ago after attending a stamping party and discovered Close To My Heart not long after that. I signed up as a Consultant almost immediately after trying out the acrylic stamps and blocks! I’m very lucky to have a husband who supports my hobby 100%. I was fortunate enough to be invited to teach at the CTMH Toronto Regional Celebration and at Extravaganza for Close To My Heart’s Annual Convention this past summer and I hope to have that opportunity again in 2013 in Florida. I love searching the internet for creative ideas and I am most definitely a sketch-a-holic! Sketch challenges are my favourite challenges of all for both cards and layouts!

I invite you to visit my blog at: www.createwithalyson.blogspot.com and say hello.

We look forward to Alyson joining us this month and we also want to send a BIG Thank You to Tracy for being such a great Guest DT in October!

More news coming your way tomorrow so stay tuned!

Keeping it Neutral...

Caroline here this week, with a new challenge for you:

Create a card using one or more neutral colours.
This could be black, white, off-white, grey and/or kraft. Do NOT use any other colours!

For those of you who love colour, this could be quite a challenge! However, neutral does not have to mean boring. Think of the vintage look of black-and-white photos or the elegance of sepia-toned prints. Minimizing colour can mean adding lots of texture and layers for interest. Let your card design be the focus, rather than your colour palette. Many striking clean-and-simple cards feature a subdued or limited colour scheme, with lots of "white space." Close to My Heart chose to update their neutrals this summer, so there's lots of new shades to choose from.

You have until THIS SATURDAY, Nov. 3rd at 10:00 pm EST to enter our October challenges and be considered for the monthly Top Ten!

To get those creative juices flowing, here's some not-so-neutral inspiration from the wonderful Team A.

Is your interest piqued yet?! Here are the guidelines to follow:

  1. Use mostly Close to My Hearts products, though it doesn't have to be 100%.
  2. Create your card, using one or more neutral colours.
  3. Post your project to your blog or other online gallery.
  4. Come back here and link directly to your blog post, not your blog home page.
  5. Mention Heart 2 Heart somewhere in your blog post, indicating that you are playing along with us and link to our site.
  6. Consider adding the H2H badge to your blog. We'd love to spread the word and see more crafters participating.
  7. Please consider turning off word verification if you'd like to get comments (you can always enable comment moderation if you're concerned about spam).
Thanks to all our weekly participants and our Designer Team members!! We love to see your artwork; the inspiration works both ways! Show us how you "keep it neutral."

P.S. Happy Halloween!

Birthdays By the Numbers

Before we get to this week's challenge, thank you to all of our readers, participants, and followers!  It is so fun to see your creations each week.  You are truly an inspiration to all of us here at H2H!  Here are a few things to remember about all of our challenges:
*You have all month to play and share for that month's challenges.
*You can backlink to older projects if you wish.
*You must use some Close To My Heart products in your creation.
*Please mention H2H in your post.  We also love to know how we've inspired you.
     *Get crafty and have fun!

This week's challenge is to celebrate a birthday using NUMBERS on your project.  Now it's our turn to inspire you.  I'll bet a lot of us can relate to our guest designer Tracy's pretty card! ;)

Next up is Angel's flirty and sweet 7th birthday card.

Cheryl is on a roll with the 7s!

Dania continues our western theme, dude, with her fun "21" card.

Nancy included a cool chipboard technique on her handsome card!

Our final card comes from me, Haley, to celebrate a special teenager's upcoming birthday.

Are you ready to celebrate by the numbers?  If so, link up your CTMH creation here!  (Remember, if you're posting to a blog, use a direct URL link to the post itself, not to your blog in general.  Thanks!)  You have all month to play, so get those birthday projects made.  Happy birthday from all of us here at H2H!
